Halcyon Days

I’ve always enjoyed that expression, ever since I first noticed a Sheffield bar with that name* whilst I was at university.

I thought I’d do something new, and look back into my blog to see what I’ve been up to… so What was I doing…

18 months ago : (done in place of 2 years, which I can’t do because the blogs not been running 2 years yet).

I’d seen about 15 bands in a week via “In the City” and Valentine records. Chief amongst these were “Misty’s Big Adventure”.

A year ago :
I was playing football in London for my old sunday league team, as well as taking part in the mini-ashes tournament.

6 months ago:
I’d just returned from my Edinburgh trip!
At the cinema, I’d just been to see “Children of Men”

3 months ago :
I’d just started work again after the christmas & new years festivites.

1 month ago :
was Liverpool v Barcelona! (or was it Barcelona v Liverpool ?)

What were you up to?

* = I never actually went to this bar.

regular diary post below this one.

The Games We Play

on Wednesday, in a result that makes it sound like we played better than we did, we beat andorra 3-0. I marked. Thursday was Thursday, and likewise Friday.

We played games on Friday, Mahinda came over and we played Risk.

Rosy went on a madcap offensive against mahinda, allowing me to sit back and eventually win as they wore each other down. Sarah had joined us by this point and we played Monopoly where she gleefully humiliated all of us.

Scrabble was next, Rosy won but drunkeness and tiredness took their toll and bed followed swiftly.

Saturdaywe beat the arse 4-1. nice. more football followed. The evening was spent round Sarah’s and included the finest bit of fish I’ve ever had - Talapia (or something). The apple crumble dessert was tasty too.

Sunday started in the garden with planting before progressing to the house and cleaning and ending up with marking and finally 24.

Monday saw the dentist, who I now have to see again in three weeks for fillings, the barber, who I now need to see in 6 weeks as my hair will be long and bouncy by then, and the supermarket, who I now need to see in 2 days as I will need food by then.

After finishing my marking at home (hurrah!) - I went to see the Barenaked ladies, who put on a decent show.

Today is tuesday, later Liverpool play PSV. I shall be watching it, and I shall likely be in a pub.
