Karting, Eating & Gigging.
Monday
went to the pub quiz at the red lion… didn’t do very well!
Tuesday
Played football, a decent game.
Wednesday
Played a £1 rebuy at university… didn’t do that well, but it was fun.
Thursday
Went to the Finance fair at the GMEX. It was fairly interesting.
Friday
Stayed in!
Saturday
Up at 6am and down to Chelmsford via London. Arriving at 12.
Went to meet up with everyone at Allan’s place and watched some cricket before heading down to the go-karting place.
Go-karting was fun, I did rubbish but at least finished ahead of two of the other “Hattrick” crowd. I just couldn’t get used to the idea that to pass people you had to bump them out the way…!
Back to Allans and then out for a spot of dinner and the quizzer. Wayne, Brian, Nick and I ventured into town for a couple of hours, being refused entry to one place due to Brians trainers, we discovered a decent bar before heading back to Allans for Poker, beer and the first ten minutes of the empire strikes back.
The occasion was that Allan is moving to Australia next week… so good luck Allan!
Sunday
Watched a bit of footie (Liverpool had beaten villa 3-1 the day before) and then headed into town to try and find breakfast.
Ended up with an awful pasty…
Started the trip home shortly after mid-day…
arrived back around 6pm. Went straight over to Sarahs with Rosy for sunday dinner - which was fantastic!
Sarah had cooked Spanish Tapa’s - her favourite sort of food - and I have to say that it was better than the stuff you get in most tapa’s resturants - delicious.
Mahinda, Adrian and Emma were there too.
Monday
Sarah’s ex, Mark, came up to watch a mates band in Teasers - it’s the Manchester “In the City” festival at the moment so all sorts of places are hosting gigs.
Just before we went I made a nice array of pizzas, from scratch. tasty.
The band (the straglers) were ok, but suffered from a lack of drummer, and bassist, preferring to use a DAT - which I’ve never been a fan of.
They were definitely better than the following band, however.
By this point we were joined by the two band members and Mark’s scottish friend, Archie. We headed to the sports café and carried on drinking until midnightish. Sarah and I made a move home whilst the rest stayed out.
Mark finally collapsed on my sofa at 5am the following morning!
Tuesday
Went to see The Cooper Temple Clause at the Academy 2 with Rosy and Mahinda. They were pretty good, though I didn’t get as involved as usual due to the bruises sustained at the go-karting on saturday.
Enjoyable though.
It’s suddenly got very cold here!
