Wall

Monday :
Supervisor, followed by frustration at work.
Football in the evening, then poker. I won a Hattrick tourney for $25, but Andi chopped an MTT for $1260, which we all ended up watching. Nice one!

Tuesday:
More frustration at work (grrrr!)
Football with Rosy’s workmates, then squash with Adrian (9-4), Nick (5-9), Si (4-9) and Rosy (9-7). I thought I played well for someone who had not played since a school trip to Doncaster Dome in the mid 90s (plus I lost without scoring back then, too!)

Wednesday:
Parents visited and I built a wall in the back garden. (I’m quite proud of my wall).
Afterwards, played half an hours hockey before meeting up with Sarah in The Great Kathmandu for our latest date, which went well.

soon I’m off to turkey, so expect fewer updates.

And leave comments, you cretins.

  1. ‘Tis a good wall!

I should be joining in on the squash action next week, BTW, assuming it’ll be on again.

  2. I ain’t no cretin!

Your blog is often like a foreign language to me… Monday makes no sense. But that’s ok, I just ignore it.

I just re-read Wednesday as “I met The Great Sarah at Kathmandu”, which would make a far better sentence.

  3. Alsion, an abridged Monday would read:

Monday : Work was crap. Played football. Won money in the evening.

I like your wednesday sentence too.

Mahinda, I’ll not be at squash next week… but quite fancy making it regularly. I should point out that overall our standard is quite low… all of us except Si had not played more than once in the last 10 years!

  4. It is more fun to comment when you make well…more personal blogs…like…if yuou describe the wall I might be able to say..that sounds like a nice wall…

  5. I, quite deliberately, steer clear of posting personal stuff into the public domain - I am, after all, quite a private person…

It is a nice wall. made of (most of) the stones we had to hack out of the garden to make it reasonable… You’ll have to come to one of our bbq’s to come and see it! (in fact, anyone reading this should come to one!)

  8. Is it a dry stone wall or have you actually cemented it in? Given the assortment of masonary that was floating around your garden I’m thinking maybe the latter.

  9. heh, it’s just a dry one, I’m afraid… But we used the big flat slabs for the top so that it’s emminently “sittable”

  10. This is a comment.

    It was posted by Mia.

Therefore Mia is not a cretin.

    Good day to you, sir.

  11. Hello Mia!

  12. Mia - doesn’t commenting make you a cretin? As the order “leave comments” was given to the cretins.

/me realises this also makes her a cretin, even after stating “I ain’t no cretin”.
