Birthdays!
I can now, exclusively reveal, that my shopping on Monday was for birthday pressies. I couldn’t write that at the time because each of the three birthday people read this blog and I didn’t want them to know!
Anyway, Tuesday
… Was Alsion’s birthday. I sorted out a package to send up north (she now lives in Edinburgh) for her. It contained a glitery starry card, the Goonie’s leaving pressie and her birthday pressie, which was a tambourine.
We all also sung happy birthday to her whilst crowded around a phone in the Red Lion, just before the England 2-2 Sweden game kicked off.
Sarah, Rosy, Mahinda, Linden, Adrian & Nick were there to see a good first half performance followed by a naff second half performance.
A strange route home occurred, and it rained a bit!
Wednesday
Wednesday was Rosy’s birthday! (I got him a violin book and some dvd’s)
I started the day with some coffee and scones before working some.
I finished my problem *just* in time to go to hockey, which we lost 4-5 (I scored three, and we almost managed an amazing come back, only to be thwarted at the last…).
Onwards to the Jabez to watch the end of the Holland v Argentina (0-0) match. Linden brought in a huge chocolate birthday cake, and we all devoured it.
We headed out for a curry at Spicy Hut, which was mighty tasty, before I collapsed asleep at 0030 on Thursday morning…
Thursday
Thursday was Sarah’s birthday!
I bought a rather unimaginative Thornton’s box of chocolates and a nice card and we all ate at the wonderous “Bistro” on Burton Road.
It was all very pleasant indeed, the food, the company, the whole shebang went off nicely.
Afterwards we headed off to the met, for a quick drink before tiredness and hometime…
Today is Friday and I’m off to Cheltenham!
