The Waterhouse Tradition
I found this site through the BBC and tracked down my surname!
Apparently we’re centred on Bradford and most commonly occur (and therefore the most likely origins of the name) around North Derbyshire, East Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
Our Shield is Black Pyramid on Gold, crest an eagle and motto “Veritas Vincit Omnia” apparently.
If you want to try it for yourself copy the link and change the “WATERHOUSE” to whatever your name is. I found it pretty interesting.
Turns out that bit of latin means “Truth Conquers Everything”… which is nice.

Did it too - I appear to originate from around Bath somewhere.
